But seriously, is four episodes going to be enough? When i first read about Netflix’s revival of one of our generation’s classic television shows (I was in elementary school when it aired so it’s a classic for me) I was beyond excited. I wasn’t watching it religiously when it aired, but getting to see them again on Netflix brought back the nostalgia (Netflix’s grand plan).
Gilmore Girls always reminds me of fall, cinnamon-y spiced lattes (before pumpkin spice was a thing) and family! Some of their best moments were at the dinner table when Rory and Lorelai were at her moms. If you’ve ever had a overbearing/loving grandmother, you’d know these scenes are the funniest. Kelly Bishop is queen.
The reunion special will be a four-part special that takes place over the four seasons, from the looks of the trailer it seems like everyone’s back. Even Sookie St.James (Mellisa McCarthy) is coming back after reports said she didn’t hear about the reunion in time, you know, because she’s a big star now and all. But we love her and glad she’ll be back. In between getting away with murder, Paris (Liza Weil) also returns to Stars Hollow, and all of Rory’s men appear in the trailer, so you know it’s about to go down.
If you haven’t heard, Rory’s grandfather played by Edward Hermann passed away in 2014, and it seems like our girls are going to be dealing with his death. I can’t imagine how hard it must’ve been to return to set and not have him there. It reminds us of how much time has passed since the show ended in 2007, and jeez we’re getting old.
Check out the trailer below. The four-part special airs on Netflix on November 25th.
