G I R L S: Hannah’s 25th!

1024px-Girls_logoSo what did you guys think of last night’s episode of Girls? I’m not really sure what to think, I sort of feel like it was a waste of 25 minutes. It was Hannah’s 25th birthday party, Adam’s crazy sister moves in, and Marnie is haunted by an old music video she did with Charlie that is still on YouTube.

First, are we ever going to find out what happened between Marnie and Charlie? She keeps crying at the thought of him and we don’t have any idea why. Second,  Adam’s sister is legit crazy. Adam looks normal compared to her. Jessa barely spoke this episode. We only saw Shosh when Ray approached her outside, he tells her he can’t just be friends with her and then awkwardly walks away. Later at the bar, Ray introduces himself to a dude who turns out to be Shosh’s date (of course).

Once again Marnie finds a way to get on stage and start singing. She invites (or forces) Hannah to join her so they can sing together- a tradition on Hannah’s birthday. In the other room Ray gets into a fight with Hannah’s editor- someone screams ‘fight!’ and everyone starts leaving the Marnie Hannah performance.

In the end, Hannah and Adam get home, the moment is interrupted when Hannah finds Adams sister in the bathroom with bloody hands.

Either these episodes are too short to form an actual story to develop or there’s just not enough happening.

Since the new season of HBO’s Girls is only two days away- we thought we would end off the week with our very own Girls video. The video was put together for last season’s finale episode and is a quick recap on where are crazy characters left off in season 2.

Check it out and let us know what you think will happen in the new season!

GIRLS: It’s Back

Last night’s episode of Girls was one of the best this season. After last week’s episode, we were left confused and worried with the fate of our fave Sunday night show, but all is back to ‘normal’. Take that Kourtney and Kim!

Everyone was back for last night’s epi, including Shoshana’s friend Snooki. I mean Radhika. While on a stroll, Ray and Shosh talk about Charlie’s big fortune in the app world which leads to Marnie’s question- what app? Apparently, Charlie created an app, and some developers paid a ton of money to buy the app, and now he’s rich and working at a swanky loft. If things couldn’t get worse for Marnie, well they do, and last night she looked bat s*** crazy. She leaves the park, and doesn’t change into more appropriate attire, shows up at Charlie’s office unannounced, she doesn’t even tell him she’s there, she spies on him for like 5 minutes until she calls out ‘yoo’. Really? Charlie looked so good! He was all dressed up and swaggin’ out in his zone. Marnie…sorry Marnie. They talk for a bit, he tells her more about the app he’s created which basically forbids you from dialing out or texting your exes number. An idea he came up with after Marnie broke up with him. Hm. All of a sudden there’s music blaring and everyone’s dancing off into the next office for a party/fundraiser…and Marnie’s left standing there alone in her pigtails and flip flops.

Radhika- Shoshana’s very rich Indian college friend invites her to a house party later that evening, Shosh asks Ray to accompany her but he refuses to attend a college party because he’s in his 30s…big deal! In the end, Shosh ends up leaving the party early, but hooks up with the doorman. Nice.

One of Hannah’s funniest scenes, as she’s walking down the street she keeps checking behind her after she receives a call from Adam. Except she’s counting the times she looks back…and once she’s at 8 she switches to the other side. Homegirl is def suffering from a serious case of OCD…which we later find out has affected her since her early years.

Adam attends an AA meeting…he completely loses it and spills out his entire life story, how he met Hannah, how he fell in love with her, and how she broke his heart. Later, one of the older ladies in the group offers to set Adam up with her daughter. He’s kind of sketched out, I mean what good can come from a blind date? He agrees to be nice to the old lady. Later, the date ends up being amazing, he is completely shocked at how gorgeous his date is. She doesn’t pick up on his weirdness, either that or she finds it cute. He is so giddy with happiness that the date is going well…it seems like Adam might be better off without Hannah…at least for now.

Hannah meets up with her parents who are visiting the city. Right away her mother notices her fidgeting and asks if she’s having her tendencies. Hannah denies it, they go for dinner. During the dinner she is totally losing it, this time her parents pick up on it for real. Before they can say anything Hannah walks out, she bumps into a random guy, and then proceeds to bump into him 7 more times. It was so funny.

Ray is enjoying his night in until Marnie shows up wearing her magician’s assistants outfit. She’s confused as to why the good stuff keeps happening to everyone else, and she’s stuck in this part of her life where she doesn’t know what she wants to do. Ray asks her straight up what she wants to do in life…and the first thing that comes to her head when he asks her that. She admits she’s always wanted to sing, Ray isn’t impressed by that but asks her to try singing anyways. She does, and she’s really good, he’s in complete shock and advises her to believe in her dreams and work hard.

Her parents take her to a psychiatrist, while in the office she admits to all the horrific moments she’s had to live through with OCD. She tells him about her book deal, as if that’s supposed to prove she’s not crazy. The doctor prescribes her the medication…and they’re off on the subway ride back home.

GIRLS: Video Games

Okay, so for any of you that have seen the newest episode of HBO’s Girls, I hope we’re all thinking the same thing- WTF? I am completely lost, and have been since episode 2 of season 2. I don’t know where these characters are going, how the episodes relate to one another and why am I not loving this season like I did the first!? So last week ended with Ray brooding over his miserable life with the stray dog Adam stole. This week, we head to the boonies with Hannah and Jessa. Seriously, Jessa’s family makes Honey Boo Boo look normal. Ultimately, were stuck with Hannah, her UTI, and Jess for the next 30 minutes.

The girls arrive in Manitou (a train stop away from Poughkeepsie-Snooki’s hometown). Unfortunately for Hannah, Jessa’s dad is late as usual…Hannah needs to use the non existent restroom- but it’s okay because she has a whole lot of nature to use as her bathroom.

Hannah Peepee

At Jessa’s father’s house things get weirder when we meet Jessa’s step mom and her step brother- Frank. Hannah is a little put off by everything especially when her dad pulls up in an old car filled with old broken computers. She also doesn’t appreciate having to dry herself off with a dirty face towel. We meet Frank as Hannah and Jessa’s step mom are feeding the pet rabbit. He’s awkward as **** but Hannah has the ability to see through his awkwardness and compliments him on his folded turtle neck. Nice.

Later, the fam sit down for a nice home cooked meal- thanks rabbit! Hannah is completely grossed out which is unusual for her. We don’t really see Hannah in uncomfortable situations, she’s usually the one putting people in those awkward moments. Anyways, it’s obvious where Jessa gets her weird behavior from, her dad is a coocoo bird, he was absent her entire life, of course it’s normal for her to marry a man she’s only known for 2 weeks.

Rabbit Dinner

After dinner the girls go out for a drive with Frank and his buddy Tyler. What Hannah assumes to be a ‘sex capade’ is actually a casual drive in the boonies for Jessa. Things get a little wild in the car when Jessa covers Tyler’s eyes while he’s driving. The car almost veers off into the trees before coming to a stop. Hannah jumps out of the car, furious with the situation she’s in, she storms off into the forest. Frank follows her and they somehow hook up on the floor of the forest which turns out to be a cemetery. Ew. The sex doesn’t last for long and Hannah is left having to comfort Frank as he’s recovering from his moment. He’s really weird.

When they make their way out, Jessa is having a smoke while Tyler is throwing up in the trees. Frank goes to help him and Hannah confesses that she just had sex that lasted 8 seconds. Jessa is shocked and disgusted that she would even sleep with Frank. Hannah is completely confused at the situation, she assumed they were on a sex capade and was trying to keep the ‘continuity’. Ultimately, she was disgusted with herself.

The next morning Jessa has a heart to heart with her father, we get to see a side of Jessa we’ve never seen. She shows all of her vulnerabilities, her scars, the pain she’s had to go through without a normal father.

jessa dad

Hannah has a confrontation with Frank inside the house. She asks him if that was his first time having sex, he tries to cover it up and says it was his ‘second’. She asks him who was the first girl he slept with?

Later, the girls decide to go grocery shopping. Jessa’s dad says he can’t be seen in the parking lot because he’s fighting with the store owner. He promises to loop around and pick them up in 20 minutes. The girls finish their shopping but her dad doesn’t show up. Jessa isn’t surprised, saying he always does this. On their long walk home, holding their heavy grocery bags, it seems like Jessa has a quiet revelation. Back at the house Hannah is in the bathroom complaining about her UTI…she comes back into the bedroom to find a note from Jessa. So where did she go? Why did she leave? Is she behaving like her father because she ultimately knows she’s just like him?

Hannah finds herself back at the train station. She calls her parents and tells them how much she loves them. They are going through Hannah’s things because they’re going to visit her in a few days. They’re crazy- but she loves them.

Moral of the story love your parents? I mean at this point I have no idea what that episode was supposed to teach us. Don’t sleep with a guy in a cemetery who doesn’t use an iPod?
