So watching this week’s episode of Khloe and Lamar was sadder than I expected. Obviously, it’s no surprise that Lamar Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks after the NBA lockout. However, I was surprised finding out that he actually was traded to New Orleans as well.
The lockout is over, but the drama definitely isn’t. Khloe has to fly to New York for a quick event, however she doesn’t want to leave Lamar because he’s going through all these trade rumours. While she’s on her 5 hour flight, Lamar gets traded to New Orleans, Khloe is freaking out because all this happened while she was up in the air. She calls Lamar but there’s no answer. She hears his voice on the radio, giving some radio interview and he sounds extremely sad.
And then, only a few minutes later, there’s breaking news, and New Orleans pulled out on the Odom trade. So he’s not leaving the Lakers, but now he no longer wants to be a Laker since they were so quick to trade him. It was surprising to hear Lamar was even up for a trade, he’s been playing well, and has been with the Laker’s for years.
Anyways, by the end of the episode Lamar gets traded to Dallas, Khloe stands by her man and is being extremely supportive. It’s crazy how fast a trade can change someone’s life, Lamar doesn’t even have time to pack his things, Khloe stays back to basically pack their entire lives into boxes.
Last night on Khloe & Lamar, there was a whole ‘lotta representin’ happening from our favourite female Kardashian-Khloe. Since the NBC lockout was still going strong in November, Lamar’s agent heard from a basketball team in Istanbul,Turkey that they wanted Lamar to play for them. Considering Lamar was itching to play the game that brought him fame, he was really considering leaving the country. However, when Khloe found out about this, she wasn’t as excited as a housewife should be.
Most of you probably don’t know, in 1915 the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) implemented the systematic killing of 1.5 million Armenians. Considering how small the Armenian population was, that is a huge number. Basically, it was like the Holocaust, however most people today have no idea this happened to the Armenian people. The Turkish government refuses to acknowledge the killings and deny the Ottoman Empire ever had a plan to essentially eliminate the Armenian race from the world.
Khloe felt it wasn’t right for her husband to be playing for a country that has such a deep history with her heritage, her father Robert Kardashian raised their family to be proud of their Armenian culture.
As she gathers different opinions from her family, she realizes whether she likes it or not, her and her sisters are a huge figure in the media for the Armenian people. There would be a lot of backlash if Khloe was to move to Turkey and resume a life there. Ultimately, she decided to be upfront with Lamar and tell him what her feelings were about him playing there. Lamar doesn’t really make a decision, but not longer after his offer, the NBA came to an agreement and the lockout was over.
Meanwhile, Jamie (useless Jamie) has an amazing idea of becoming an actor. He soon realizes it’s not really who you know or what connections you have, if you suck at acting, you suck at acting. Wow, we didn’t see that one coming!
Next week, the lockout might be over, but that only means Lamar will barely get to wear his Lakers jersey.
Waaah!! I’m not even in their family and I’m sad at the news that Lamar Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Who knows what happened between the two teams…Lakers sent Odom and a 2012 second-round draft pick to the Mavericks in exchange for a protected 2012 first-round draft pick and an $8.9 million trade exception (Whatever that means). Sad to see LamLam go…and sucks for Khloe, since she’ll be moving to Dallas with him…and won’t be with her fam as much.
Their reality series Khloe and Lamar is following them through this journey…so we’ll see all of it on the new season. Yay.
