The Challenge: Bloodlines PREVIEW

In case you haven’t heard, the new season of MTV’s The Challenge is called ‘Bloodlines’ and it’s a format that we’ve never seen on the show. Cast members from shows like ‘The Real World’, ‘Road Rules’, ‘Are You The One?’ will be paired up with a family member from back home. There are some major changes this season, opening up the casting to other shows like ‘Are You the One?’ I guess is a move to create a bigger fan base, but it’s usually always been Road Rules and The Real World people. Having watched a ton of Challenge seasons in the past, you definitely get used to seeing the same old people in every season and it makes it that much more entertaining. I have to say, I couldn’t get myself to watch the last season of The Challenge. The MTV show lost two of their cast members, Diem and Knight, and having the show return during that time was just really weird, I couldn’t get myself to watch it.

thechallenge,mtv,real world challenge,road rules,are you the one

But let’s get to the fun part. Here is the list of the contestants for this season: For pictures of the cast click here.

Aneesa and Rianna (Cousins)

Johnny Bananas and Vince (Cousins)

Camila and Larissa (Sisters)

Cara Maria and Jamie (Cousins)

Cohutta and Jill (Cousins)

Leroy and Candice (Cousins)

Nany and Nicole (Cousins)

KellyAnne and Anthony (Cousins)

Christina and Emily (Sisters)

Cory and Mitch (Cousins)

Dario and Raphy (Brothers)

Jenna and Brianna (Cousins)

Tony and Shane (Brothers)

Thomas and Stephen (Brothers)

As you can see some of the teams are mixed genders, male/female vs male/male so I’m wondering how this pair up is going to work. I’m hoping the dynamic of the new cast from Are You the One won’t be as awkward as I’m anticipating it to be. Hopefully TJ can pull this one together.

The Challenge: Bloodlines premieres Wednesday December 2nd on MTV.

Who Won The Challenge: Free Agents?

I can’t believe it’s already the day after the finale! Seems like just yesterday we were talking about the premiere, but it’s done, we have our winners…and we’re not that surprised.

wINNERS

Taking first place for the guys is none other than Johnny Bananas– what is it like his 5th win or something?

And for the girls, this wasn’t a surprise at all- Laurel. (Beating Nany by only 9 minutes)

Although the winners didn’t have me fooled, the other finalists continued to shock me throughout the episode. Rookie Johnny came in second?? That’s amazing! He definitely surprised me, but after watching last night’s finale you can tell he has such a great spirit, and how cute was he with partner Devyn??

So the two Johnny’s took 1st and 2nd place, which left Zach in third but in my toughest opinion, he didn’t deserve to be there. Imagine this finale with CT!?!? Um the results would’ve been completely different. The two Johnny’s were so lucky that Zach sucked so bad. He could barely move blaming his body for crampin up. When he was teamed up with Laurel he was crying out that he wanted to give up, she refused. And then he goes on to call her ‘stupid’ and a ‘bitch’, how old are you? Meanwhile Rookie Johnny’s over there like speaking to Devyn in a soft boice telling her to ‘gently jump into his arms, he’ll catch her’ so cute. In the end Zach did admit that the challenge ‘humbled’ him in a way, because he just assumed he was going to win it all. So that was kinda cool.

In my opinion, all three girls deserved to win, all of them are badass bitches, they are each in their own way the true definition of a ‘heroine’. I wasn’t really waiting to see who would win first, I wanted to see if everyone was going to cross the finish line! Mostly Devyn, because Nany and Laurel were neck and neck for most of the race.

Devyn has been the funniest part of this season, she was constantly making us laugh, so of course we want to see her win some cash! Obvi, girls gotta get a new wig! Devyn came in third, but she surprised everyone with her determination and heart. In the end, once everyone had crossed the finish line except for Devyn, they cut back to her and it looked like she literally was still at the bottom of the mountain! I don’t know how she did it, I don’t know how anyone did it, all I know is I can’t wait to watch the next one! Oh and when are we going to see TJ doing one of these??

What we learned from this season of MTV’s The Challenge: Free Agents?

If you’re going to do a challenge, change your name to Johnny.

WHO WON RIVALS II??

For once, we can say Johnny Bananas didn’t win first place…and for that I am grateful. For the girls, I think it was pretty obvious Emily and Paula would come in first place…Cooke and Cara came in second. At the start of the race Cooke and Cara had a good lead…but the powerhouse duo caught up to them midway in the eating portion of the challenge.

rs_293x473-130626090203-634.rivals.ls.62613

CT and Wes absolutely killed this final race…I had a huge smile on my face watching these two long time rivals battle it out. CT was so supportive of Wes, the entire time he was encouraging him and reminding him why they came all this way. CT might be a crazy maniac but I love watching him in finals…he was so good with Diem last time it’s a shame they didn’t win.

Anyways, CT and Wes won first place…they actually had a huge lead against Frank and Johnny. The horn being blown from the beach could be heard inland where Johnny and Frank were still working on their obstacle. I’m sure it’s a crushing feeling to hear that horn, but I was glad Johnny wasn’t the happy and smug one for once.

Emily and Paula made it back to the boat with Cara and Cooke trailing a ways behind. It looked like Cara and Cooke gave up once Paula and Emily passed them in the carrying obstacle. They just knew there was no way they’d catch up and beat them.

1_image-large

There has been some crazy ass final challenges in the past few years, and even though this one looked intense…I don’t think it was as crazy as others. I didn’t like how there were only 4 teams in the final race….in the past there were several teams with 4 or 5  people all in the running…bigger teams…bigger suspense…you just have no idea whose going to win. In Rivals II we knew who was going to come in first place…or at least knew who would be winning some money. I was just waiting for it to be over.

Congratulations CT and Wes…finally CT wins his first ever Challenge! Emily and Paula absolutely killed the entire season…I don’t think it was a fair pairing…they are two extremely strong contenders and it just doesn’t make sense for those two to be paired together…in comparison to other teams like Cooke and her original partner Naomi.

I am so curious as to what the next Challenge will be…I’m hoping for a Rookies VS Vets…we haven’t seen one in a while and now that we have more rookies it will definitely be a great platform for the drama to unfold.

1st PLACE

CT and Wes    |    Emily and Paula

2nd PLACE

Johnny and Frank  |  Cooke and Cara

3rd PLACE

Marlon and Jordan   |   Jemmye and Camila

RIVALS II: This Is the End…for Diem

Last night’s episode of MTV’s The Challenge:Rivals II was absolute insanity. There was no elimination last night, but we did get to see a whole lot of drama in the house, especially after the girls had their final challenge.

There are only four girl teams left…and it all came down to last night’s final challenge….every team wants to win that first spot and win their ticket to the final race. Cara and Cooke are on their own when the other 3 teams decide they want C & C voted into the jungle…of course that’s if Cara and Cooke don’t win immunity. Ha-Ha!

CandC

I’ve never been a fan of Cara…but this season that has all changed thanks to Cooke. Cooke and Cara have fought through countless jungles…they’ve sent teams home and I think they deserve to be in the final race. They’ve had a target on their backs since day one…and it’s no question as to why they are my favourites right now. Having said that, this final challenge was extremely nerve wracking, I literally couldn’t breathe until it was over. It was a good ol’ game of simon says…the girls were chained to their partner, they had to run across the scorching hot beach to a tent where a machine signalled out the colours to them. Then they had to run back to the start line and assemble the colours in the appropriate order. There were two heats…so whoever came in last in the first heat automatically was sent to the jungle.

I did not expect my girls to win this round…I mean it’s the most important race and I just assumed Emily and Paula would kill it. Right off the start Em and Paula are zooming down the beach, C and C are in second…Diem and Aneesa are following in third and Jemmye is having a hard time running alongside Camila. The teams reach the tent to memorize their signals…Cooke and Cara are the first ones to get it, they zoom off leaving Em and Paula stunned. Diem finds herself sketching out when she can’t hold on to the colours in her head, Aneesa is standing there watching her partner completely break down. By this point the other 3 teams are down the beach…Cooke and Cara complete their order coming in first. Em and Paula come in second and Jemmye and Camila are in third. Diem and Aneesa are automatically sent to the jungle. Diem’s face…I just wish I had a picture….this is exactly what she didn’t want, she never wanted to see a jungle.

DiandA

In the second heat, it was Cooke and Cara against powerhouse Em and Paula. This was literally make or break, the boys were standing their watching the best entertainment of their lives. Somehow, Cara pulls through and continues her pace with Cooke. They make it to the tent a few seconds after Em and Paula, but again they’re the first ones out as Cara promises Cooke she’s got the order. For a few minutes I was like….this is where Cara f***s everything up!!

Cara and Cooke make it back to assemble the colours…by this point Em and Paula are caught up but C and C fight through and they end up winning first place!!!! When TJ blew that horn…wow I couldn’t be happier for these two girls. Everyone else was stunned…Diem was boiling with rage at the sight of Cooke celebrating. The guys were going nuts because everyone knows the house is about to be ripped apart…nobody thought Cooke and Cara would win immunity,

Back at the house….the girls are scrambling to lock down their votes. For the first time in the game, Em and Paula are legitimately facing the jungle and they are scared sh*tless. And this is why I love Jemmye and Camila. Not once did they beg the guys to not vote them in…they stayed out of it all.  Even though they could be facing the jungle…they sure as hell knew they would be coming back from it.

Paula is begging Jordan and Marlon not to vote for them, she has tears in her eyes…Jemmye walks by and turns to the boys and tells them she def can’t cry like that. Then everything blows up and Jemmye calls out Em and Paula for begging like a bunch of you know whats…somehow Diem gets involved…and then Jemmye is calling Diem an idiot…..how could she fall for CT all over again…everyone knows how he is and that he’s hooked up with everyone. The problem was…Diem wanted to go against Jem and Camila because she thinks she can beat them…however CT and Wes were saying they were going to vote in Em and Paula for whatever reasons. Diem saw this as CT playing her and not giving her what she wanted. And he really didn’t care because he can’t hold her hand forever…AND he doesn’t owe her anything. I love when he asked her why did you lose the final challenge! All you had to do was not come in last place!! Amazing.

PaulaEmily

So Diem is having a full out psycho attack…with her red wine in her hand she’s walking through the house looking for trouble. Aneesa is trying to get her to lay off and go to sleep. Diem isn’t having it, she has a thing out for Cooke I don’t know why. She starts giving Cooke the evil eye because Cooke is totally care free at this point. Anyone in Diem’s way is open for fire. Also, if Cooke and Cara lost the challenge there would be no fighting…the house is a mess because Cooke and Cara won immunity. Revenge is so sweet!

CamandJem

At the deliberations, Jordan and Marlon surprisingly vote for Jem and Camila. I have to respect Jordan’s decision as he based it on the fact Em and Paula have won almost every challenge, they deserve to see the finals…they fought hard enough. And I agree, they were the powerhouse of the game…like Cooke and Cara they proved themselves…I think it’s time for Diem and Aneesa to do the same.

So the final jungle will be Diem and Aneesa VS Jemmye and Camila.

I’ve always been Team NOLA so I hope I see Jem and Cam back in the game for the final race.

Who do you guys think will win the jungle?

RIVALS II: Who Got Eliminated?

On last night’s episode of MTV’s Rivals II we said goodbye to Real World New Orleans cast members Knight and Preston. After falling into last place…Knight and Preston had no choice but to fight for their lives in the jungle. This was the last elimination for the guys so it was extremely important to win.

281x211

Rookies Marlon and Jordan knew they would be facing Knight and Preston…they ended up ruining them in the final jungle. Great job for the rookies…they just won themselves a ticket to the final race.

The 3 teams for the guys are:
CT and Wes

Johnny and Frank

Marlon and Jordan

Next week is a girls elimination…at this point teams are so close to the final challenge nobody wants to go into a jungle. We’ll see how it goes down.

The 4 teams for the girls are:

Diem and Aneesa

Emily and Paula

Cooke and Cara

Jemmye and Camila

Tune in next week for what’s sure to be one of the best episodes of the season!

RIVALS II: Who Got Eliminated?

On this week’s episode of MTV’s The Challenge:Rivals II the girls were up for elimination. This is the point in the game where friendships and alliances are tested. We’re past the halfway mark…and there are only a few more teams to choose for eliminations. At this point, everyone is trying to stay out of the jungle…and just make it to the final challenge. Drama meter is boiling.

281x211

Cara and Cooke are sent into the elimination round when they come in last place during the challenge. Cara can’t swim…and this proves to be fatal for their team…but no worries because these two girls are survivors and have come back a few times from elimination rounds.

After Jemmye and Camila win immunity…the guys are stuck deciding who to vote into the elimination round. It was the best week for J and C to win first place…most likely they would’ve been chosen. The guys don’t have any other choice but to choose Jonna and Nany. Jonna is furious with Frank because he had promised her he would never say her name in the game. But Jonna trusting Frank proves once again why she’s a ….you know what I won’t even say it. I just don’t get how anyone would even bother trusting Frank.

tumblr_mry74iFlZE1rqqweno1_500

In the elimination round Cara and Cooke are teamed up against Nany and Jonna. Teammates are blindfolded with a stick in a circle…they have to break the stick on their opponent by listening to the commands of their teammate on the sideline. Jonna isn’t loud enough and Nany can’t figure out where to go with the blindfold on her. Cooke and Cara win the first round. Second round, Jonna just stands there in the circle, she can’t even figure out where to go….this one’s in the books.

Jonna and Nany are eliminated.

Predictions:

I don’t even know how many teams are supposed to be in the final race but here are my names.

Guys

Johnny and Frank

CT and Wes

Marlon and Jordan

Girls

Emily and Paula

Diem and Aneesa

Cara and Cooke (I’m hopeful)

What are you guys thinking?

RIVALS 2: 69?

rivalsIIWith the new season of MTV’s The Challenge:Rivals 2, the teams of two are sure to be subjected to some crazy ass challenges. Last night proving to be one of them…titled ’69’ by a few cast mates on Twitter. It started off with a little hip action sawing, working together to cut a piece of wood. Then, partners had to literally carry their other half upside down (69 style) through an obstacle course…grab a ball with their mouth…pass the ball down to the other person…and have them put the tiny ball into the opening of a pipe on the sand. It sounds really difficult, but evidently the biggest challenge was having your teammates crotch in your face…seemed like a few people couldn’t deal with that.

The guys had to be the funniest, for some reason Wes gave up right off the start. It was a girls elimination so he just didn’t feel like doing it. CT, who looked like he was having fun, kept going on with Knight, whose partner Preston quit as well. Knight and CT tried running the course together, until TJ kicked them off.

SawingSpeaking of teams, the pairing of some ‘rival’ teams are questionable…since Naomi had to leave Thailand for personal reasons, we found out Cooke’s new partner is……Cara Maria….?….? Really? I think she’s annoying and are they even rivals?, for Cooke it might be a blessing in red hair. Cooke is a rookie, but she’s strong and smart and with Cara Maria’s experience I think they’ll go far. For the girls, the team to beat right now is Emily and Paula. It seems like they will be the team to beat for the rest of the game, I can’t imagine any other team coming close to them. Maybe Jonna and Nany….or Cooke and Cara but even then E and P seem like a solid team. They came in first place again last night, giving them immunity from the elimination. Rookie team Anastasia and Jessica came in last which automatically puts them in the elimination round.

69Back at the house, the guys decide on who they want to vote for. The final tally goes for Cooke and Cara to battle it out with the rookies. I was pretty confident these two powerhouses would beat the rookies, but ya never know.

This season’s elimination battle looks similar to last season’s. I feel like they copied the same games, just gave them a different name and look. Last night’s game had both teams suspended in the air, above dirty looking water. Each team had to quickly saw away at a rope that would bring down the losing team right into the water. Before the round even started, Anastasia feels sick, she says her head is spinning and she can’t see straight. At this point, everyone is just sick of her and her rookie drama, C & C were waiting in their position, Cooke couldn’t wait any longer so she decided to let it all out and pee in the water below.

Elimination

Anastasia pulls it together, they go on with the challenge, a few editing cuts later we feel like Anastasia and Jessica might have a chance, but C & C pull through for the win, eliminating the rookie girls team. Who saw that one coming?

SIDE DRAMA:

Trishelle confronts CT about hooking up with Anastasia, of course CT denies it but everyone knows he’s lying. CT asks her why she’s talking about his sex life, somehow Frank gets involved and him and CT almost end up fighting, thank you God for Knight in shining armour. Frank starts crying, he runs to Johnny and tells him of his findings, Johnny laughs it off, and admits he’s super worried about his team’s fate if his partner is already crying in the first week.

Anastasia realizes she’s ‘that’ girl when Theresa tells her about CT and Diem. Anastasia is stunned at the news, as if she’s never watched The Challenge before! How do you not know about CT and Diem?…it’s like the greatest love story in the history of reality TV. She’s a dumbass and she knows it, CT hooked up with her and now she’s all upset and regretful. Sorry A, that still makes you the rookie ho even if you realize it. It’s time for her to leave when she starts a fight with CT, he fights back by saying he never promised her anything, they just hooked up…but she’s embarrassed so she has to put up a front and act all ‘independent woman’. Waste of time, later girl!

DumbassesJordan proves he’s a real man when he’s able to lift the same weights as Thor. If you don’t know, Jordan doesn’t really have a left hand, it’s more like a wrist, but that doesn’t stop him from challenging himself. A quality Sara really admires, and apparently Jordan has the hots for her as well. They hook up in the closet…it’ll be interesting to see where this one goes.

MTV’s The Challenge: Rivals II

Nothing tops off a new season of MTV’s The Challenge, and this season is no different with cast mates being paired up with their ‘enemies’. It’s the second season of ‘Rivals’ in the past three years…and I’ll admit I was hoping for a Vet VS Rookie matchup instead. But whatevs, the season was off to a great start last night, we got see a lot of fake shocked faces when they realized who they’d be paired up against.

What do you guys think of the teams? I would’ve liked to see a Johnny/Wes match up, I think they have more drama than CT/Wes. Poor Dunbar, he’s had no luck the last few times he’s been out to play and you can tell he’s already given up when he finds out he’s paired up with Tyrie. Tyrie looks like he’d be a good competitor, but he usually fails at everything, and proves muscles don’t mean squat. Derek/Robb, I really like them both, separately..I don’t know how far they will last, they just don’t seem like a strong team. Okay, Knight/Preston- I’m so sick of these two being paired together, like we get it, we know Knight gets annoyed atPreston, I love Preston but gawd! He’s really bad in these challenges! I would’ve liked to see Knight with the other kid he hated from his season…what was his name?

Let me just say from now, Emily and Paula will win it for the girls. It will be a clean sweep, they are by far the strongest team, they have experience and strength…and compared to the other girls they’re just on another level. I think Jonna and Nany will go far…I hope Naomi/Cooke can figure their s*** out because Naomi is flipping’ entertaining to watch. Diem/Aneesa is a tricky one, I like them both, I hope they get far, I think the fact that they know most of the guys will keep them around for long. I’m honestly just happy Jasmine is back, when she gets in her ‘moods’ she has me on the floor dying of laughter.

For the guys, I’m hoping CT can finally win one, but in the past Wes is known to do some stupid s***…on the flip side he has won a challenge so maybe that’ll help. Zach and Trey are looking good so far, they won last night’s Challenge, giving them immunity for the elimination. They look good, Trey is super optimistic, he wants to prove himself and Zach just needs to make sure his hair doesn’t get in the way.

Last night’s episode ended off with a big bombshell, TJ tells the house that the girls will be deciding who goes into elimination for the guys, and the guys will decide for the girls. AKA all the alliances the guys/girls made with each other, are pointless. The girls decide on Robb and Derek against the last place Dunbar and Tyrie.

The best part of last night’s episode was CT and Diem, and I’m sure everyone felt the same. Even you Aneesa!! They’re like the ultimate love story that ever came out of one of these challenges, and hopefully this season we’ll get to see more of them.

Talk to me, Tweet to me what did you guys think of last night’s premiere?

MTV’s Washington Heights

WashingtonHeightsLogoThese days, it seems like every television show spawns a reality show, and most often than not they’re pretty damn successful. After The O.C gained a huge fan base, MTV decided to make Laguna Beach:The Real Orange County…as if The O.C wasn’t real! It totally was! After Laguna Beach there was The Hills, which was sort of like the real-life Sex and the City minus the city…but it wasn’t long until they added ‘The City’ in the sequel. Then we have the entire Real Housewives franchise which was obviously developed from the highly successful Desperate Housewives. Get where I’m going with this?

Now there’s a show on MTV called Washington Heights, a show about a group of young people living their lives and trying to make something of themselves. The look and feel is exactly like HBO’s short lived series How To Make It In America which was actually a really good show. The characters are all young, relateable in their 20s,stylish residents of the predominantly Dominican neighborhood of Washington Heights, New York.

Frankie and Ludwin

There’s a lot of flavour and a whole lot of drama that goes with living in the Heights, these kids have a really cool East Coast feel about them, some of them are working hard and some are hardly working. Either way, they all look good doing it and I think Washington Heights will be the next big thang on MTV.

Washington Heights airs Wednesday nights on MTV.
