S U I TS: “Bad Faith”

Last night’s episode of Suits was uneventful compared to the episodes we’ve seen in the past few weeks. Mike and Rachel get into a big fight after Mike visits her father and gets him to agree on a deal by using Rachel as a weapon. When Rachel finds out she’s furious with Mike…and she no longer knows if moving in together is a good idea.

Harvey and Donna are enjoying the aftermath of the Ava Hessington case…but things are about to get worse before Donna gets another handbag. At the end of the episode, Jessica finds out that Scotty had no involvement in Harvey’s deal with Wholesome Foods…and Ava not only fired Harvey…but she’s suing the entire firm for malpractice. Ooh girl!

Next week’s promo for the summer season finale looks absolutely cray! Jessica finds out about Mike and Rachel and she isn’t happy. Donna visits her man in prison…I wonder if Steven will end up being her baby daddy.

S U I T S: ‘Endgame’

Last night’s episode of Suits was all about the endgame with the nerve wracking conclusion to the Ava Hessington case. Poor Lady Stark has been living with the worries of this murder trial and the possibility of going to jail for a very long time. She is finally a free woman!…thanks to Harvey.

The episode starts off where last week ended…Harvey punching out Steven in the bathroom. Donna’s in Harvey’s office helping him with his battle scars…but she feels all better when Harvey tells her Steven looks even worse.

HotHarvey

Donna begs Harvey to take Steven down…he promises he’s going to. But there’s a major roadblock…they don’t have proof that will convince Cameron…especially since the trial is a few days away. In court Harvey tries to bring Steven to the stand…he asks him a few questions and then lets Cameron do the dirty work. Only problem is, Cameron doesn’t believe Harvey and doesn’t really ask Steven any tough questions. All Cameron wants is a win…he doesn’t seem to care whose the guilty one.

Meanwhile, Louis is having an all out war with Harold. He is livid with Harold for testifying against him in their mock trial. Harold has so much resentment towards Louis…and now there’s a lawsuit in the middle of them. Rachel has really become the voice of reason for Louis, the scenes they share together are special in that Louis always listens to her. He’ll put up a strong front at first…but she’ll know how to touch his emotional side…which is basically all of Louis. He is extremely emotional…and we see more of that in this episode. Rachel asks him why he’s being so mean to Harold…Louis explains that his pride and joy are the associates. He’s trained them and made sure they’re the best…except for Harold. Harold is a constant reminder that Louis failed at being the great teacher he thinks he is.

LouisLitt

Back to Harvey and Mike. Jessica has joined the team because let’s admit it…they need her help. Darby is in on the case as well as Ava’s fate is looking more and more tragic. At this point, Darby knows he’s the only one that can save her. He tells the gang he will testify in court and says he was the one who ordered Steven to handle the ‘business’. After he heard about the murders….Darby questioned Steven but obviously he didn’t tell him anything. It would still be enough for Cameron to let Ava go..and make a deal with Darby to take down Steven. And that’s exactly what they do in the men’s bathroom…minutes before the final hearing for Ava. Darby agrees to a few years of probation so Ava can be set free and Steven can take the fall. I mean he is guilty after all.

darbydeal2

Also, we learn more about the relationship Darby had with Ava and her father. He was in a relationship with Ava’s father…as an oil man he couldn’t come out of the closet…so any time he spent a weekend with Darby Ava would tag along and pretend to be Darby’s girlfriend. Welp, now we know the connection…and it’s totally clear why Darby steps in…although he didn’t have to wait to the last minute!

It was really funny how Donna kept ending up in the middle of things. She even made sure she was there at the bar when the FBI showed up to pick up Steven. Ouch.

donnasteven

While Darby is signing the papers…he realizes there is a clause in the deal that forbids Darby of practicing law in the United States. This also means he cannot own his own firm…he looks up at Cameron Dennis…and then Jessica mentions that they wrote up the deal…and she purposely put that in there. Oh!! Jessica for the win! Darby doesn’t have a choice, he signs anyways…and this might be the end of Pearson Darby.

Now that Darby and Ava are gone….will we see more cast members from the Game of Thrones? Check out the slideshow from last night’s episode below.

S U I T S: Harvey The Finisher

The Ava Hessington case went over a cliff with a huge shocker from last night’s episode. The episode titled, “She’s Mine” explains everything that went on in the 45 minutes. Louis trying to win Nigel’s cat Mikado…and Harvey battling it out with Donna’s new boytoy- Steven.

Donna_Steven

Louis doesn’t want to give back Mikado, Nigel had asked Louis to watch his precious kitty while he was on a business trip…and when he returns one week early…Louis refuses to give back the pussy. Nigel and Louis agree on a mock trial…whoever the jury decides is the best fit to parent Mikado will take her home. Louis chooses Rachel as his attorney…and it turns out to be a good decision because she actually wins the trial. Nigel has an offer, he proposes to give back the associates to Louis in return for his Mikado. We all know Louis loves his associates, even if they’re all scared of him. Rachel reminds Louis that Mikado is Nigel’s cat…and he can’t give up his pride and joy. Louis awards Rachel with an acceptance letter to Columbia Law. He admits he saw it on the mail cart in the morning and wanted to present it to her himself. So cute! Guess Rachel is staying in the city!

mocktrial

After Steven leads Cameron Dennis to another key witness, Harvey is furious with him, not just because he’s sleeping with Donna…but because he keeps f****** s*** up for the H Man. Harvey and Mike find information on Ava’s protege Nick, the information is solid to blackmail him…so Jessica/Harvey/Mike decide to pin the murders on him. During their meeting with Nick, Nick pleads he never knew anything…and they decide that the jury will never believe the number #1 (Ava)…didn’t know what the number #2 (Nick) was up to. AKA referring to the secret mission Harvey had to bring down Jessica. But don’t worry, they’re all cool now.

Anyways, in the end Donna finds out that Steven used her to get information about Ava’s case. Donna is furious with Steven, but admits she won’t tell Harvey about this. It looks like they’re over, but it’s obvious Donna is walking away with a broken heart. Things get even worse when Mike looks into Steven’s past. He comes running over to Donna and tells her to get Jessica and Harvey into his office immediately. It turns out, Steven is the one that ordered the murders!!!!! He was and still is on the same rugby team as the key witness…there were phone calls traced from the Darby offices in London to the guy that murdered all those people. So really, Ava and Nick really had no idea this was going on. Ava hired Steven to help her out…and he did…he just didn’t tell her all the things he had to do.

DonnaHarv

Donna is listening to their conversation with tears in her eyes, she apologizes to Harvey, he looks back at her and realizes she’s hurting. Harvey storms out of his office…into the bathroom…and beats the s*** out of Steven. Oh and he breaks the bathroom mirror. Oops!

S U I T S: Recap “The Other Time”

Last night’s episode of Suits was supposed to be the ‘big one’ of the season with a flashback into the lives of Harvey/Donna…Mike and his loser best friend. I have to say, I wasn’t all that impressed with what went down…and what didn’t. From watching the previews, it’s easy to assume the entire episode is a flashback…giving viewers a giant dose of young Harvey and Donna. Instead, the episode takes us back and forth from past to present, because obviously the boys still have the Ava Hessington case to deal with.

Harvey as a youngin'
Harvey as a youngin’

MIKE FLASHBACK: Rachel is off to visit Stanford, which gives Mike more time to work on the case…and a lot more time in his flashbacks. Other than learning that Mike did get into Harvard legitimately…his flashbacks were sort of boring. I mean it was the same old story with him and his best friend selling dope/making money by doing other people’s tests. It turns out, the first test Mike gave the answers to was to the University dean’s daughter…and now the University is firing the dean for conspiracy…so the dean decides to unleash hell on earth for Mike and promises him that he will never let Mike go to Harvard…even if he’s already been accepted. Sucks for Mikey.

HARVEY FLASHBACK: Harvey and Donna obviously have a very charming past…the flashbacks starts when Harvey is working under Cameron Mustache Dennis and Donna is his secretary. Harvey is totally hitting on Donna…but she’s kind of refusing him…but it’s obvious she wants him to. I mean come on nobody can resist Harvey Specter. While Cameron and Harvey are working on their case, Cameron asks Harvey to plant evidence in the paperwork. After Donna reminds him of what’s right and wrong, and shows Harvey she’s not just a secretary…she’s Donna…and if he doesn’t like that then he should hire someone else. Harvey sees the bigger picture and refuses to cooperate with Cameron…then Cameron calls him a p**** and I’m just surprised Harvey didn’t clock him in the mustache.

Specterswag

Harvey is so adorable in his regular people clothes. He visits his dad at the baseball park…and this scene made me love him even more. He asks his dad for advice on what he should do about Cameron. We’ve only ever seen Harvey visiting his father’s grave…so to see a scene where he’s asking for advice (which is rare for Harvey) it was really endearing. His father tells him exactly what Donna tells him which is not to trust Cameron…and if he’s done this once…he will surely do it again.

In the end, Harvey quits his job at the DA’s office…and decides to join Jessica’s side. She is currently bringing down her predecessors…and asks Harvey to join the revolution! Before he officially accepts…he visits Donna at her apartment!!! And she answers with a can of whip cream? Oh lawd. Please Mr.Korsh let us see where this goes! Harvey reminds Donna that they are no longer working together….which means they can totally hook up! And that’s exactly what they end up doing…except we don’t see anything happen so for all we know they could have been playing scrabble.

After Harvey officially accepts Jessica’s offer…and tells her he’s bringing on his own secretary…he visits Donna at The Diner. He tells her he has a job offer …and she agrees only if she gets a big signing bonus. Don’t worry Donna he left the amount empty. D + H make a promise that as long as they’re working together they will never speak of what happened between nor will they do whatever they did that ‘other time’. They also need a new ritual..and so the can opener secret is born.

And then we jump to the present, and Donna’s back at The Diner by herself until Harvey shows up. He admits to her that the whole Steven situation does bother him…she knows…she just wanted him to admit that.

At the offices, Harvey is feeling guilty to he admits to Jessica that he made a deal with Darby. Jessica is livid, and I say livid because I feel that’s the appropriate word for describing someone who is so pissed but keeps her s*** together.

Now that Jessica knows, what will happen at the Pearson Darby Specter offices?

S U I T S: Unfinished Business

BFF_ForeverThere is a ton of drama swarming the offices of Pearson/Darby, and yet Rachel and Donna still find a way to mend their relationship. Last week was a tough one for Rachonna, they had their first real argument and it made for an awkward episode. Thankfully, the two forgive each other, and Rachonna is back in full force. It’s a good thing the girls are back together, because the boys are super busy, especially when Ava Huffington returns for some ‘unfinished business’.

Ava and Harvey go out for lunch (was that The Thompson Hotel?)…Ava offers Harvey a job, she wants him to work for her. Obviously, Harvey has other plans…like finishing his lunch…but that doesn’t work out either because Cameron Moustache Dennis shows up and arrests Ava! Apparently, they are arresting Ava for murder…they think she hired some people to kill a bunch of other people. Harvey is back to work, saving Ava from going to jail. At the hearing, Harvey asks the judge for bail, Cameron doesn’t want to give Ava the option of bail, but Harvey wins this round by accusing Cameron of personally choosing this case as a vendetta against Harvey.

NewGuy

There’s a new man in town, Steven Huntley is visiting the offices from London town, he makes an impressive entrance, but is even more impressed with a certain red head.

Bloody_Hell

Steven makes a good first impression on Donna…well sort of. He asks Harvey how he works with that bombshell outside of his office, and Harvey replies by telling Steven she can hear everything they’re saying. Turns out Steven is here to assist Harvey in the take down of Jessica Pearson. One problem, Harvey doesn’t trust Steven and refuses to work with him.

At lunch, Harvey and Steven are interrupted by a determined Cameron who presents Harvey with some new findings. He says he has witnesses who place Ava’s hired men at the scene of the crime. Harvey and Mike are back at work to figure out what they’re going to do. Ava’s obsessed with trying to find out if Harvey thinks she’s innocent or guilty.

Katrina the crazy is back in the game…settings things in motion. She wants to get in on the Hessington case but when Mike refuses her, she tries to apologize. When she mentions his relationship with someone in the office…he immediately says Rachel’s name. Katrina smiles and points out how funny it is that Mike immediately assumed she was talking about Rachel. Mike explains the Katrina situation to Rachel…and Rachel gets all emotional and asks if she’s Mike’s girlfriend. He gets down on one knee and asks her the old fashioned way.

Proposal

Their lovey dovey moment is interrupted by a video that’s sent throughout the office. It’s a video making fun of Mike, showing Harvey giving birth to Mike? It was really weird, but it’s Katrina’s way of getting her revenge. Mike wants to get her back, but Harvey stops him in his tracks and reminds Mike they need to figure out the Ava case. But, Harvey can’t contain himself so he decides to tell Katrina off himself.

BitchBeCray

When Mike and Harvey visit Ava at her apartment, she tells them they need to resort to plan a..which is bribing the witnesses. Harvey refuses to do something illegal just to get her out of this lawsuit…but she’s done with Harvey so she fires him.

The next day Ava meets with Steven Huntley, Harvey freaks out that this guy has taken his client from him. When he confronts Steven about Ava, Steven tells Harvey that he advised Ava not to bribe anyone as it is probably a set up from Cameron. Looks like Harvey is surprised with Steven’s good advice.

Harvey and Mike figure out  a way to ‘bribe’ the witnesses without it being illegal. If they sue Ava with proper documentation, she can basically pay them off…the whole transaction being completely legal. Yay!

In the end, Katrina gets what she asked for. Louis agrees to bring her on as his assosciate…and it looks like they’re going to do some damage together. Mike finishes up the paperwork with Ava, she asks him one last time if Harvey thinks she’s guilty. He replies by telling her he doesn’t feel it’s his place to tell her…and he doesn’t feel comfortable telling her what he thinks of the case. Harvey and Mike discuss business, Mike tells Harvey he knows Ava is probably guilty. Harvey doesn’t say anything which means he agrees. They have a few drinks, and Harvey tells Mike of his secret plans to take Jessica down.

MikeHarveyOffice

Donna and Steven have a little moment outside. As Donna’s leaving work, which is a rare thing for us to see. Steven rolls up in a vintage sports car…he tries to charm Donna, but Donna isn’t impressed that easily. He tells her what if he had MacBeth tickets…she tells him she’s already scene the play…he tells her she’s never seen it with him…in the front row…with Daniel Day Lewis. He drives off, leaving her alone on the street…she realizes she’s in trouble because she’s actually impressed. Woo! Donna has a love interest! Harvey’s gonna get jealous!!

S U I T S: Finale!

I just want to take this time and thank Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle for a sexified smush scene at the end of this week’s finale episode. I have to say I wasn’t expecting the episode to go out with a bang (pun intended), but I think it’s made us all uber excited for season 3.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s start from the beginning of the episode. Overall, I think it was a great finale, it was actually one of the funniest Suits episodes I’ve ever seen. Most of the story lines were resolved in the 42-minutes, others were left to be answered hopefully in season 3- for example the whole Donna do you love Harvey question…. ….? And…OMG you’re a fraud and didn’t go to Harvard…!!…well that was answered by the file room sex situation. Who doesn’t love bad boys? But seriously, the looming question in the finale was what’s going to happen to Pearson/we need a partner because we’re going broke.

HarveyDarby

Harvey makes a bet with Edward Darby (Lord Varys in Game of Thrones), Jessica hops on the bandwagon and wants to see Harvey lose this one. If he does lose, he gives up the chance of having his name on the door, as well as a merger with Edward. This also proves to be a huge turning point in Jessica and Harvey’s relationship. Even though Jessica has admitted she needs Harvey, he’s the best she’s ever had (not that way)…she still puts him in his place and reminds him whose da boss.

Rachel doesn’t want to admit that she didn’t get into Harvard, she’s still blaming her rejection letter on Louis’ relationship with the Harvard admissions lady. She asks Mike (who she believes if Harvard alumni) to write a letter on her behalf…Mike feels bad and agrees to help her with the letter, even though he has no intention of writing it himself. He asks Louis to write it, Louis admits everything, the reason for Rachel not getting it wasn’t because of his relationship…it was because Rachel wasn’t good enough. Mike forces Louis to come clean with Rachel, if not he’s going to do it himself.

Scottie is still around the Pearson offices, except now Harvey wants nothing to do with her, he won’t even sleep with her! Scottie’s the one that basically got the ball rolling for this merger between Jessica and Edward. Now that Scottie realizes Harvey doesn’t want to share his name on the wall, she has to find a way to tell him she loves him. Say what!? Really you’re in love with Harvey!?…who isn’t. Get in line sista!

Scottie asks for Donna’s help, Donna is amazing so she immediately knows what to do. Donna tells Scottie she is going to have to sacrifice her ambition if she wants Harvey to notice her. This leads Scottie to produce a secret folder that will help Harvey win the bet against Edward. Instead of giving it to Harvey, because she’s smart, she gives it to Mike. When Mike gives it to Harvey, he immediately knows Scottie was behind it. He doesn’t trust her, and he normally wouldn’t do anything illegal to win…but he doesn’t care.

Scottie

Donna confronts Harvey about the secret folder. Harvey admits the folder is a wild goose chase…and Donna asks Harvey to wake the f@!# up and realize Scottie’s in love with him. The only reason why she can’t tell him is because, like everyone else, she’s scared it will push him away. Donna keeps pushing and asks Harvey why he let Zoey go. He explains it was because she had to take care of her niece…Donna calls his bulls***. She explains she’s tired of seeing him fight for everything in here [the office] and not fighting for anything in here [his heart]. Harvey is shocked, this comment gets him a little angry and asks what’s this all about. He asks if this is about her and her feelings, and she makes a face like ‘I can’t believe you just said that’ but it’s the truth, she was speaking on behalf of Scottie…Right?

Harvey says he can’t trust Scottie for what she did (have an affair), and Donna agrees with him, but if he wants to win this bet, he should trust what she gave him.

DonnaHarv

Now that Mike has the file he needs, Jessica calls him to her office. Harvey and Mike never get the chance to use that secret folder, Jessica doesn’t allow it. She forces Mike to hand it over, or he’s going to face serious time for practicing law without a license. How scary was Jessica in this scene? Oh but it get’s worse.

Mike Jessica

Harvey is furious with Mike as they’re battling it out in the Men’s washroom. Jessica walks in and asks Mike to leave. Harvey tells Mike he’s back in the associates pool, in fact he’s fired. Jessica sticks up for Mike and tells him he’s not. Mike walks out and leaves Harvey and Jessica alone. Jessica admits she wanted this merger, she wants to be at the top, but Harvey has trust issues. Harvey agrees with what Hardman had told him that Jessica is afraid of Harvey. Jessica reminds him that she just kicked his ass.  ‘Be humble and learn your god damn place’ is what Jessica had to say to Harvey. And that’s the end of that.

Edward fires Scottie after he finds out she gave that secret file. Harvey comes face to face with Scottie at the elevators, he looks apologetic, but can’t say anything, the doors close and she’s gone. Edward and Harvey shake hands, Harvey asks for Edward to rehire Scottie. He asks Harvey which office would he like her to work in. The camera’s on Harvey but he doesn’t give an answer.

Rachel finds out that Mike didn’t mail out the letter. They’re having a fight in the file room, Mike doesn’t have a choice but to come clean about who he is. He tells her he’s a fraud and that he never went to Harvard. She slaps him…and then this happens:

S U I T S : Blind Sided Recap

Oh Happy Day! If you were suffering from Harvey Specter withdrawal, do not worry because he’s back for the remainder of Season 2, with a more sassy and sexy Mike. (can you use the word sassy for guys?) So this episode is probably one of my faves, it had everything I wanted- Mike and Rachel drama, Harvey being romantical and even Luis doing the dirty with Mrs.50 Shades!

Okay, so let’s start from the beginning.Mike is getting high, what else is new? How do they fake that mary jane…or do they? Anyways, he’s still shacking up with his friend/lover who Rachel caught him with at the end of the mid season finale. He gets to work and the first thing he does is to confront Rachel and apologize. Not a good idea, Rachel is extra bitchy and she has no problem laying it down for Mike. Harvey walks in at the most awkward moment, but what can you do…the boys have work to do.Image

Luis tries to hire a new associate since he’s now a senior partner. Only problem is, the new associate is a Harvard law student, and she’s never heard of Mike before. Donna finds this out and is worried, she tells Harvey, Harvey tells Jessica, and Jessica forces Luis to get rid of the girl- and tells him they’re in a ‘hiring freeze’.

Harvey and Mike are busy with a new case, one that involves a hit and run and a really cute guy (that’s not relevant). So Mike is skeptical at first, he doesn’t believe the 20-yr old client when he says he was completely sober when he hit the man on the road. Mike’s parents were killed by a drunk driver- so obviously this is personal. Harvey asks him to step down for this case, but Mike insists, believing the client’s innocence.

When Mike and Harvey meet with the prosecutor, she has goo-goo eyes for Harvey, but keeps her cool and presents the guys with a felony charge for their client. The next time they meet, Mike arrives solo, Harvey seeing how goo-goo cray the girl was opted to sit this one out. The prosecutor tells Mike she will let her client go on community service, if she gets the opportunity to work for Harvey. Mike doesn’t believe she’s actually bribing him, but he has no choice because he believes his client is completely innocent.

It seems like passing her LSAT gave Rachel a big pair of cojones because she is giving it to Mike, and making sure he’s as hurt she is. She realizes she’s been hurt by him before, and it’s only her fault that she let it happen again. She admits to having an affair with a married man…I don’t see why she admitted that. Mike is dumbfounded because his innocent Rachel…has been around. Still, I feel Rachel needs to find her own apartment. It seems like she’s always at the office! Even when everyone else is home…she’s at Pearson, poor girl. Maybe she sleeps in the mail room.

ImageHarvey is busy with the love of his life-Zoe. He shows up at her place, sans flowers…which really disappoints Zoe’s niece. (Was that their daughter playing the little girl?) Harvey is oh so charming, and even offers to watch Bugs Bunny with Zoe and the little girl…but hello Harvey who watches Bugs Bunny anymore? It’s all about Dora. The night goes well…why wouldn’t it he sneaks in a smooch 5 minutes into the evening! Oh Harv…

ImageHarvey asks Mike to sign the papers for the hit and run case, but Mike’s high…and shows up to the client’s house anyways. While there, the client admits that he was high the night he got into the accident, this changes everything for Mike. However, it doesn’t change the case because lawyers really don’t care about doing the right thing…and the prosecutor goes along with the original deal…in the end we find out Harvey has offered her a position, and she cares more about her career than one case. You go girl!

This doesn’t go so well with Luis, he got turned down by the 50 shades lady because he let go of the Harvard grad…Jessica told him there’s a hiring freeze, so why is Harvey hiring a new associate? I swear Luis is going to shoot the building up!

Harvey yells at Mike for almost trying to ruin the case, he tells him next time he ever tries to cross the line, he’ll fire him. He also tells Mike to ‘get his shit together’, he really is sexy when he’s mad. Mike and Rachel have another silent glares across the office scene, as Mike’s leaving, Rachel is walking aimlessly, they spot each other through the glass walls…he walks into the elevator and she walks back to her bedroom…I mean her office. Wah! Mike gets home and immediately calls it off with the married girl. While breaking up with her, if you can call it that, he tells himself he needs to get his shit together, and apparently Harvey’s wise words have sunk deep. Really deep. Also, can he move into that gorgeous apartment he bought for his grams?

Harvey is hoping to spend another night with Zoe, this time he’s in normal people clothes and has flowers. Zoe tells him that her brother has cancer and he’s not going to survive. That’s why she’s taking care of her niece, and will be taking care of her niece from now on. OMG I totally cried during this scene, I love seeing these two together, I cannot wait to see what happens. Harvey wants to take her away for the weekend but she can’t…maybe next time?

Such a good episode, can’t wait for next week!!
