GAME OF THRONES RECAP: ‘NO ONE’

Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones titled ‘No One’ might have been their weakest episode of the season, but with our sights set on episode nine and ten, we reflect on how the writers have set up all these different story lines, and how they’ll unfold by the end of the season.

Listen to our podcast recap below and let us know what you think!

TOP 10: GoT Season 6 What We’re Excited For

So we’ve had a few Game of Thrones teasers drop in the past week, can you guys believe it’s almost that time again? Instead of breaking down what we see or don’t see in the promos, let’s just go over what we’re really excited about this season.

The writers left off with our main characters turning a corner in their individual arcs and pointing them in a direction that will probably send them to the finale of the series. Having said that, GOT fans claim every season will top the last, but this one, I think, will have the biggest changes. Or maybe it won’t, I’m not a writer on the show but I really wish I was.

10. Where have all the dire wolves gone?

jonsnow-direwolf

Not that I’m a crazy dog lover or anything, but seriously, where are all the damn dire wolves? I feel like a huge symbol of the Stark family rising back up will be the return of the animal(s), we know Arya’s wolf is still out there, maybe Sansa will run into it since she’s all up on the North side. Then it’ll be like a part of her sister is always with her, or not. Because really nothing good ever happens to the Starks.

9. Where did the zombies go?

whitewalkers-got

The last time we saw all the white walkers they were full out zombie status at Hardhome, and Jon Snow and his crew barely made it out. That gave the zombies enough time to head to Georgia and fake kill Glenn. Ha. We haven’t seen the last of them, not that I’m particularly excited to see them again, I just have this deep dark feeling they’re going to f*** sh** up.

8. More wine nights with Khaleesi and Tyrion

Khaleesi-Tyrion-Olivia

Seriously though, how amazing was that conversation between Khaleesi and Tyrion. Now that the two are ‘friends’ I’m hoping to see them have more deep conversations with Olivia Pope sized wine glasses. But first, let’s bring Khaleesi home!

7. Gendry, we know you’re still out there!

got-gendry

I feel like as quickly as I remember Gendry, I quickly forget about him. But let’s not forget, technically, he is King of the seven kingdoms right now. But beyond that, I’m hoping he’s going to play some type of role this season. Last time we saw him, Davos was pushing him away into the water in the middle of the night. Maybe he’s Arya’s true soulmate and they can run the kingdom together, but again, nothing ever good happens to the Starks. I got my eye on you Gendry, even if Arya doesn’t. (Because she can’t see anymore – see what I did there?)

6. Cersei, on a scale of 1 to 10 how mad are you?

got-cersei

But really Cersei, really, how mad are you? I cannot wait for this scene to go down when Jamie Lannister has to tell his baby mama aka his sister, that their daughter is dead. She died on the way home after being sent to a very pretty resort type of living arrangement in Dorne. That last scene with Jamie and his daughter, and how she really knew the story of her mother and him, it was beautiful. But bye Felicia, your momma has done too many horrible things for you to survive this. And another thing, you know that Amber Rose slut walk Cersei Lannister shame walk, did not even phase Cersei. But the news about her daughter is definitely going to break her. But on a scale of 1 to 10…how mad are you Cersei? (Side note: Amber Rose > Kanye)

5. Will Brienne finally accomplish one thing on her checklist? AkA Sansa.

brienneoftarth-got

We all love Brienne, yay, girl power, feminism, cool. But real talk this girl has done nothing since the show has started, I mean she’s done a lot, she’s literally been moving all around the Game of Thrones world map looking for someone, or trying to protect someone she’s looking for. She’s on a mission but she never really completes the mission. Or like she completes the mission but Jamie’s hand is missing so it doesn’t really count. Anyways, we love Brienne, and I’m wondering if her week-long spy session on Winterfell will actually amount to anything. Is she going to save Sansa? Like maybe she needed to fail 300 missions to finally complete 1 and that’s to save Sansa. Again, girl power.

4. Has Arya reached Uma Thurman Kill Bill Status?

94dd15576ca3b935f1a52b2351b033a2bae61b81cb46530022df3300b696870b

Arya’s storyline last season was amazing. She was so Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, but she was also a little rebel. As her punishment she loses her vision, and I’m wondering if that’s going to last forever or are they going to let her prove herself and then give her vision back? Maybe she’ll never get to see again, but maybe she won’t need to if her dire wolf has 20/20. Love the dogs, but don’t think her story is going that way. Either way, I’m super excited for her story. I really just want her to meet Khaleesi.

3. Khaleesi and the pickle.

khaleesi kidnapped, khaleesi and drogon, dragon names game of thrones, jon snow dead

This girl is in a pickle. She literally has her hand in the pickle jar, she’s totally f*****, I don’t know how she’s going to get herself out of the pickle jar. Her dragons wish they could eat a pickle, but there’s no food around and so they’re so weak, they can’t save their momma. Khaleesi is surrounded by the Dothraki, this is how we left her last season. I mean I’m not worried about her safety. I don’t think they would kill the mother of dragons (by they I mean the writers) But they might be okay with killing one of her dragons, aka proving the point that she might not be as invincible as she thinks. Is this a possibility? CAN this happen? Should we be worried? These are all very important questions.

2. How much progress has Bran made? / Is he a dragon yet?

stark-superman

This one might be a little surprising for some fans, but really I’m legitimately worried/curious about Bran. I feel like even though we haven’t seen him in a season he’s done a lot of work in the background or more literally, underground in that cave thingy. I’m hoping that he might, or maybe he already is able to warg himself into Khaleesi’s dragons. Because you know, one of her dragons was missing for quite some time, so maybe he was roaming around the North and Bran was able to find a signal. Who knows, but it might make sense right? Like I’m not crazy for thinking that? Is that too ambitious for us to assume Bran has done that much work while he was away in season 5? I wouldn’t put it past this kid, he’s been making very smart decisions that even adults wouldn’t be able to make. Let’s not forget how noble he was in season 4 when he made the decision not to call out Jon’s name. Moving on.

1. WTF happened to Jon Snow?

jon-snow-dead

Alright, here we are. We know that Jon snow isn’t dead. But what is he? Where is he? When will we see him again? These are all questions we want answered, sooner rather than later. Not to say that we need Jon Snow back immediately, to be honest I’m a little over the entire Night’s Watch set, so I don’t mind if we don’t go back there for a while. But I still want to know wtf happens to him. Obviously the red woman Melisandre is going to play a big part in his ‘revenant-ing’ himself, can we use that word? I think everyone is excited to see and hear his beautiful voice again. Also, everyone’s like ‘see they didn’t kill him!’ And honestly, Melisandre, girl, just send us an email, or a Tweet, we just want to know that you’re working on him, and we’ll be good.

Did we miss anything? Is there something else you’re excited to see in the upcoming season? What you guys think of having a few flashbacks with Lyanna and Rhaegar?? I want to know more about those two lovebirds.

Game of Thrones Season 6 Predictions!

Now that it’s been a few weeks since the Game of Thrones season 5 finale, we can start getting excited for season 6. Okay, it might be a year away but we’re allowed to speculate! Especially the way they left off with so many cliffhangers! Hi Jon you’re not dead okay 🙂 Let’s go through some of the predictions were hoping for, and some we just don’t know anything about. Jon Snow Okay so I consider Kit Harrington’s article with EW (released the second after the finale aired btw) a complete bs story. Technically, like he says in the article, Jon Snow is dead but I think and most people should think, that he’ll be brought back to life. This will probably be possible because of Melisandre. I would love to have this question answered. If the writers didn’t want us to connect Melisandre’s return to the nights watch (to a possible resurrection of Jon), why did they show that scene in the finale? Why not wait until season 6 and have us all biting our nails wondering if she’s going to make it back to the wall to save him? jon snow dead, jon snow, game of thrones finale, GOT, Here’s my theory on all of this: A. We’ve heard stories before of R’hllor the lord of light bringing people back from the dead and if you read into the entire religion or history of the  lord of light there’s an like ultimate god I can’t remember his name, and he resembles Jon Snow exactly. Not by looks but by their journeys and accomplishments. Wiki fans correct me if I’m wrong here. B. The concept of bringing someone back from the dead happened in season 3 when Beric Dondarrion along with members of the Brotherhood Without Banners concerted to the religion of the Lord of Light. Beric died six times, and each time Thoros of Myr has brought him back. So we know it’s possible in this world. C. If you look at this show from a bigger perspective it doesn’t make sense to kill Jon at this point. It’s absolutely ridiculous and pointless. I’ve said this before, I believe Khaleesi/Tyrion/Jon are the trifecta characters of this series. George R R Martin spent a little more time on them, maybe he sees more of himself in these 3 characters than he does others. I don’t know what it is, but I do know they are the ultimates. Some people went as far as predicting the final moments of the series. Watching the three dragons ride into the sunset with all 3 characters riding each one. The first thought I had was ‘but they’re not fire they’re not Targaryens!’ And then I’m like wait Jon Snow probably is, and what if Tyrion is? What if Tyrion’s father was never Tywin?! Woah, mind blown. This got really deep and I might be crazy but ya never know! HUGE SIDE NOTE: Where was Ghost while they were killing Jon?! Ugh. So yeah, there’s my theory on Jon Snow. cersei walk of shame, cersei lannister, game of thrones finale, jon snow dead Cersei Now that she’s atoned her sins, like a quarter of them, she’s back at the castle with her Frankenstein. I feel like Cersei won’t make it past season 6, hello ain’t nobody got time for her! The sparrows will definitely find out about her and Jamie, and I think Jamie’s going to be the one to say it. Especially since his daughter admitted to knowing all along and still loving him. He’s def changed forever. I’m hoping Frankenstein will smash her head in so hard it explodes like Oberyn’s but at this – minor detail. Khaleesi There’s a blank space in my brain for Khalessi right now. I have no idea what to think of how we ended off with her. I can hope, that she’s been kidnapped, but she somehow gets the Dothraki tribe to believe in her and join her cause. It’s obvious that she can’t always have her people protecting her, her dragons aren’t going to win over the world for her, she’s going to have to put some work in herself, and that’s completely understandable. I think this will be her time to shine and show she has the power of a queen. khaleesi, khaleesi rides dragon, khaleesi game of thrones, emilia clarke, jon snow dead Sisters Arya and Sansa, I really have no idea. Brothers Bring Bran back!! Or bring him back in the form of a dragon! Whatever it is I miss that kid. I really would like to see one of the siblings connect again, I don’t know if that’s in the cards or if it even makes sense to see them together but its season 6 and I want what I want. Jorah I really wanted to believe greyscale had the power of good somehow, like maybe you can’t burn in a fire or some sh*t. But obvi Shireen + fire = not good so that theory’s out the window. I can only assume Jorah will live the ‘yolo’ life while looking for his Queen since he’s on the clock. That’s about it. Brienne Besides being the most useless character of season 5 – relax, Stannis was basically already dead, she might play a big role next season. But I have no idea how that’s going to happen. gameofthrones,GoT,HBO,georgerrmartin, gendrybaratheon, khaleesi, jonsnowdead, jon snow And last but not least, because boy I did not forget about you – Gendry! He’s technically the King right now by being Robert Baratheon’s oldest son but he probably shouldn’t let anyone know that. I think he’s going to come back at some point. Maybe next seasons finale episode? I don’t know how they’ll insert him into the plot but I think he’ll be a crazy twist. Or maybe he’ll just be Arya’s soulmate. I think those are all the theories I have for now. We still have 12 months before next season so who knows what we can come up with. Let me know what you guys think! Game of Thrones: Top 10 Moments of Season 4

It’s been a few months since the Game of Thrones season 4 finale, and we’re officially wrapping up this epic season with a countdown of the greatest moments from season 4. A ton of stuff happened, so if we left anything out, comment or Tweet us. Join the discussion.

Oh and there will be spoilers! You’ve been warned.

Arya Bye

10.Arya leaves Westeros

We’re starting off this countdown with the final scene of this season, Arya stark has officially left the buildin’!! After her long and scary journey, she has the chance to finally use the Braavosi coin she received so many seasons ago. She hitches a ride on a Braavosi ship and doesn’t look back. I cannot wait for Arya’s journey in the upcoming seasons. Traditionally, they end off the seasons with a final dragon/Khaleesi shot, but this season they chose differently. I wonder if that was on purpose. This year at Comic Con a fan asked Maisie Williams (Arya) what to expect of her character in the next season, she replied ‘I am no one’. For readers of the book, this is everything

9. Grandma Tyrell admits to murdering Joffrey

Did she really admit it though? Another reason why I love Game of Thrones – the women always get a chance to shine. Lady Olenna (Margaery’s grandmother) was the definition of a boss ass bish this season when she refused to let the Lannisters control her granddaughter and the plans for the royal wedding. Whether she was in a scene with her granddaughter or Tywin Lannister, she always had something smart and sassy to say, and she usually had the last word. She might be a cute lil’ old lady but she sure knows what she’s doing, I’m sure jaws dropped when she admitted to Margaery that she had been planning Joffrey’s murder with Littlefinger. Say whaaaat!? Amazing, more twists and turns just how we like it. Also she’s given Margaery this sense of strong support and backing, and it’s really coming in use now that Margaery has to sort of ‘swoon’ Prince Tommen away from his over bearing mother Cersei.

8. Bran leaves Jon at the Night’s Watch

I think one of the reasons we love Game of Thrones so much is because they know how to break our hearts and somehow make us love them even more. The journey of Bran Stark is a long and grueling one, so when his crew arrives at the Night’s Watch every single fan was hoping for Bran to reunite with his older brother Jon. Unfortunately, the Stark children are too smart for their own good, Bran watches his brother fight and makes a heart breaking decision to leave without seeing his brother. Bran understood that the mission of finding the three eyed raven (damn you bird!) was more important than him reuniting with Jon. He knew once Jon saw him, he would never let his younger brother go beyond the wall, ruining their entire mission. Really heartbreaking scene though.

7. Prince of Dorne / Tyrion talk

Probably one of the best chats of the season, the Prince of Dorne visits Tyrion in his prison cell. This is where everyone jumped on the Dorne bandwagon, and a crucial scene for the writers wanting the audience to take OB’s side. Oberyn’s insights on the Cersei/Tyrion dynamic proves to the audience how smart and sensitive he really is. So now we like him more right? He explains the first time he ever met the Lannister children, Tyrion was still a baby. His sister Cersei hated him even then and Oberyn always wondered how one sister could hate her brother so deeply. And then he unleashes a bombshell and tells Tyrion he will fight for him during the trial by battle. So now we like and we’re worried about him too!?! Oh god this isn’t going to end well.

Littlefinger Pushes Lysa

6. Littlefinger pushes Lysa

This guy…basically started the entire show. He was behind Jon Arryn’s death, he was behind mostly everything that went wrong for the Starks…and now he’s behind Lady Lysa of the Vail because he’s about to push her into the vortex!! After he saves Sansa from King’s Landing, he lies to everyone at the Vail about her, calling her his ‘niece’. He marries Sansa’s aunt Lysa, and puts himself that much closer to ruling the Vail (practically untouchable by enemies because it sits on top of a mountain) When Lysa sees Littlefinger kissing Sansa, she freaks out and almost kills the young girl. But Littlefinger has bigger plans, one that doesn’t involve a wrinkly old witch…and one that does involve a young and beautiful red head.  He pushes Lysa into the empty hole that is thousands of feet in the air. Bye bye crazy auntie!

dragons-in-chains

5. Khaleesi locks up her dragons

We didn’t get to see a whole lot of our Khaleesi this season, but when we did see her she was most likely depressed over how powerful her teenager dragons had become. When Drogon ends up scorching a little girl from town, she has no choice but to lock up Viserion and Rhaegal (Drogon is missing). It was such an emotional scene, and probably one of the most expensive because we got to see the dragons up close…and in chains? Okay I hope those things are strong enough.

Bloood

4. Prince of Dorne Battle

Everyone loves Oberyn. From his first on screen moment he had all the ladies, and probably men cheering for him. He was the bad boy/sweetheart/nymphomaniac this season needed, and boy did he play it well to the last second. Instantly he became a fan favourite because he literally didn’t give a s@!% about what people thought of him- especially the Lannisters. He really was the knight in shining armour for Tyrion, until Gregor Clegane smushed his head so hard his brains poured out of his eyes. Graphic enough? Also, it could probably be one of the most nail biting moments of the season – true definition of a ‘trial by battle’.

Purple_Wedding

3. Joffrey Dies at his own wedding

Okay we definitely knew this was going to happen, but at a wedding- his own wedding?! Well, obviously, did you guys not watch season 3 episode 9? Nothing good ever comes out of a wedding in Game of Thrones. This was the moment every single fan had been waiting for, unfortunately it came at a time when we sort of forgot about Joffrey. It should’ve happened in his prime douchebagerry days. Nevertheless, it was an epic scene, I didn’t know what to do, laugh/cry/clap, the makeup design on poisoned Joffrey was on point. Everyone says that the book readers must find it boring or ‘not as fun’ because we know what’s about to happen. Let me just say, I was so excited for this episode, for this scene, it was worth the 6 month 1200 page read. Trust me.

Bye Daddy

2. Tyrion Lannister greatest speech of all time and then kills Tywin Lannister (his father).

Don’t mind the long title- It’s because I couldn’t find a way of separating these two scenes, because they sort of come hand in hand in understanding what led Tyrion to do what he did.  Tyrion’s speech in court showed all the pain and hurt he’s suffered through his entire life. Not only as a child, but seeing his love Shay walk onto the stand and admit to the court that she thought Tyrion was a ‘monster’, it was absolutely painful. After having a father that wants him dead, and Shay having left him for his father, what other choice did he have? He needed to make peace with King’s Landing before leaving, even if that meant killing his daddy while he was in the loo. I’ve discussed this with a bunch of people, and it was almost like everyone understood why it had to happen, but I don’t think anyone expected it to go down the way it did. Fact: Tywin is really dead, he’s not coming back. With everything Tyrion dealt with this season he really deserved a strong finish, of course it’s not just about Tyrion getting revenge, it’s also about the Kingdom. What the f is going to happen now that Prince Tommen doesn’t have Grandpapa to guide him? It might be the end of the blonde bobbleheads. Honourable Mentions: Jamie Lannister and the Eunuch who came out of the woodworks to help Tyrion escape.

Love

1. Jon Snow and Ygritte

Okay so some people will definitely disagree with this one being the number one moment but as a female fan of the show – I love the love stories!! We’ve seen our fair share of romances through the seasons, but Jon Snow and Ygritte was definitely/most probably the greatest of all time. When I read this scene in the book I immediately wished I could see it play in front of me. Some days (because I truly contemplate the outcomes of GoT on a daily basis – usually on the subway) I wish more happened in that scene, I wish they got to have a little more privacy (hello there were arrows flying around), but I still feel like it was the right timing, and it was just a tragically beautiful scene. But wipe those tears away…did you know the actors who play Jon and Ygritte are dating in real life? That makes me feel much better, but is Jon Snow ever going to find true love? Or maybe he’s destined for something greater like Khaleesi, maybe these two major characters are just never going to find real love. Maybe they’ll find each other? Okay I need to stop.

This was one of the most challenging countdowns to write up because there were so many great moments from this season, if you feel like we missed anything Tweet or Message us and let us know!

Game of Thrones: Game on!

The Eyrie

Just a friendly reminder that there’s no new episode of Game of Thrones this Sunday- new episodes will resume June 1 (we’re already on the 8th episode!!) Yikes, don’t kill the messenger. Do kill everyone on Arya’s wish list.

So last Sunday’s episode was brilliant, they’re all brilliant and special to watch but this episode was definitely one for the script writing books. The scene between Littlefinger and Sansa was amazing. When she walks out into the courtyard and there’s snow everywhere, suddenly it takes her back to Winterfell and she feels like a little girl again. Unfortunately, for her she’s not at Winterfell, pretty much her entire family is dead, and she has to live with the most annoying child ever. After her younger cousin smashes her snow castle, she smacks the boy up and it’s the closest we’ve seen Sansa become a more “Sassier Sansa”. We love it. Then, as the little boy runs off Littlefinger makes an entrance (how handsome did he look?) and he tells Sansa everything will be alright. She’s literally standing in front of the smartest man in the Game of Thrones realm (Khaleesi’s the smartest woman, duh).

He tells Sansa (paraphrasing), if the world was more about love than war and poltiics, she would probably be his daughter. Because he would’ve married her mother. But they don’t live in that world so it’s time to make out! He totally grabs Sansa and kisses her after telling her she’s more beautiful than her mother. Okay, this ish just got weird. He did kill Lysa later on so even though he might be vergring on pedophile status, we still think he’s the smartest man ever.

King’s Landing

This scene between Tyrion and the Prince of Dorne was my favourite of the night. Take a look.
